Shenandoah Valley Prairie Fen – CEGL006170

Mid-summer aspect of calcareous fen along a tributary of the South River near Stuarts Draft in Augusta County.  Swamp candles (Lysimachia terrestris), marsh fern (Thelypteris palustris var. palustris), and common three-square (Schoenoplectus pungens var. pungens) are abundant.  The Nature Conservancy South River Preserve.
