Northern Hardpan Basic Oak - Hickory Forest – CEGL006216
The Northern Hardpan Basic Oak - Hickory Forest community type is endemic to the northern Virginia and south-central Maryland Piedmont. It typically occurs in extremely rocky soils or soils with shrink-swell hardpans, and is especially common on diabase of the Triassic (Culpeper) Basin.
