Bald Cypress - Water Tupelo Brownwater Swamp – CEGL007431

Mature stand of water tupelo (Nyssa aquatica) and bald cypress (Taxodium distichum) in the Nottaway River backswamp at Cypress Bridge State Natural Area Preserve in Southampton County.  A 40-acre stand here contains many old-age trees, some estimated to be 1,000 years old.
