Central Appalachian Acidic Oak - Hickory Forest – CEGL008515
An acidic oak-hickory forest on shale, on the lower west flank of Brushy Mountain above the confluence of Dismal Creek and Kimberling Creek, Bland County. Eastern white pine (Pinus strobus) is invading the understory of this stand following a long period of fire exclusion.
