The Chesapeake Bay Preservation Act Resource Library has been developed to provide Tidewater localities subject to the Bay Act, as well as non-Chesapeake Bay Act localities, information to help guide localities in the development of sound land development practices, general water quality protection strategies and the administration of local Chesapeake Bay Preservation Act programs.
All 84 Bay Act localities' Chesapeake Bay Preservation Act ordinances are available below. Also available are resource materials on riparian buffers, septic pump-out programs, and perennial flow protocols for making Resource Protection Area (RPA) determinations. Any of the six Resource Library Elements displayed to the right provide access to ordinances, guidance documents, sample forms and applications, technical data and public education materials. Resource Library materials are from a variety of sources including DCR, local Bay Act localities, federal agencies and non-profit groups.
