The Chesapeake Bay Local Assistance Board (CBLAB)

The Chesapeake Bay Local Assistance Board (CBLAB) has nine Tidewater Virginia residents appointed by the governor and confirmed by the General Assembly. The board consists of at least one individual from each of the nine Planning Districts in existence when the Bay Act was adopted and in which there is located one or more Tidewater Virginia localities. In 1990, the Peninsula PDC was merged into the Hampton Roads PDC.

The map below indicates the planning districts that are within Tidewater Virginia as defined by the Regulations. Members of the Board are representative of, but not limited to, citizens with an interest in and experience with local government, business, the use and development of land, agriculture, forestry and the protection of water quality.
