Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

Pocahontas Premieres is a music series with something for everyone. From oldies and Motown to classic rock and current country, the series brings big-arena experiences to Virginia’s most visited state park. All shows are held at the Heritage Amphitheater.

Venue Info and Rules

In order to provide the safest and best visitor experience, we require each participant to observe the following rules:

  1. If you are sick, running a fever or have been exposed to COVID-19, stay home until you are healthy.

  2. Tickets will be available in advance online or by visiting the park office. More information about online ticket sales will come later. There will be a box office onsite when the gates open for the event. All guests, including youth, must have a ticket to gain admission to the concert. Children 5 and under are free.

  3. Concertgoers are invited to sit in lawn chairs or on picnic blankets. Limited bench seating is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Guests needing ADA seating should contact Michael.biby@dcr.virginia.gov after purchasing tickets to arrange for seating.

  4. Food trucks may be onsite for select events; please contact the park for availability. Food can be brought from home. Please dispose of trash only in proper receptacles or bring all trash back home. Please do not litter!

  5. Alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase from the concession stand operated by Friends of Pocahontas. To purchase alcoholic beverages, guests must be 21 years or older and have a valid photo ID. Purchases can be made via cash or credit.

  6. There will be a designated pet-friendly section. Pets must be kept on a leash at all times. Please clean up after your pet.

  7. Small bags are permitted but are subject to search.

  8. Absolutely no outside alcohol, coolers, canopies, illegal substances, illicit goods, fireworks or laser pointers will be permitted at the event and violators will be held accountable and prosecuted by state and federal law.

  9. No refund requests or ticket transfers will be granted; all sales final. Parking fees are required at all times. This event is rain or shine. Events canceled due to weather may implement an alternate rain date.



Directions: The park is in Chesterfield County. From I-95, take Exit 61 and go west on Route 10 to Route 655 which is Beach Road; or take Exit 67, go north on Route 150 to Route 10; go east to Beach Road. The park is four miles on right; or take Route 288 from I-95 to Route 10 East and go one mile to Beach Road. Follow park signs from there. Google Map
