Everyone likes eating out. How about eating outside instead? Virginia State Parks are great places to picnic. Whether you're looking to have a small picnic for two or for a large group, there is something to fit the bill.
Parks offers picnic facilities that can be rented 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. (all day). Some shelters have grills, drinking water and restroom facilities. Many restrooms and shelters are universally accessible, too. Picnic shelters reserved on a first-come, first-served basis by calling the Customer Service Center at 1-800-933-7275.
Of course, Virginia's state parks also have picnic tables and facilities - also available first-come, first-served - for individuals, couples and families.
Shelters vary so visit the individual park's web page and click on Picnic shelters at the left side of the page.
