Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

Great Backyard Bird Count at Caledon

Caledon State Park, 11617 Caledon Rd., King George, VA 22485. Meet at the Visitor Center.

February 16, 2019. 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Participate in some citizen science as we count as many birds as we can find. All data will be submitted to the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and the National Audubon Society. Different areas of the park will be monitored throughout the day. Groups will head out at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., and 1 p.m. Sign up to go out with one of the groups to support citizen science at Caledon.
