To commemorate the sesquicentennial of the American Civil War, Twin Lakes State Park is hosting “An American Turning Point: The Civil War in Virginia” traveling exhibit

Commemorate the 150th at Twin Lakes State Park

Museum Exhibit from the Virginia Historical Society on display at Twin Lakes

This engaging exhibit comes from the Virginia Historical Society, and chronicles the various points of views, and aspects of the Civil War; and how it affected the lives of those who lived through it.

  • Travel back in time, and experience the war with insight into the minds of those who suffered and fought through the war, by experiencing original artwork, photographs, and quotes.
  • Connect with your ancestors through a series of informational displays set up throughout two rooms at the Cedar Crest Conference Center.
  • Relive the past through a series of perspectives often over looked during this time, such as African-American soldiers, citizens, and refugees.

“An American Turning Point: The Civil War in Virginia” exhibit will be open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. now through Friday, April 3, 2015.
