Sky Meadows State Park is teaming with The Mosby Heritage Area Association (MHAA) to host Cavaliers, Courage, and Coffee, a living history program on Saturday evening November 7, 2015 at 7:30 p.m.One of Sky Meadows’ popular attractions, Mount Bleak House, was used by the Mosby Rangers, a Confederate cavalry unit commanded by Colonel John S. Mosby, as a “safe” house to evade capture by Union troops. Using this home and its outbuildings, MHAA’s Gray Ghost Interpretive Group will bring alive the latter part of the Civil War era in the Crooked Run Valley and surrounding region. The Gray Ghost Interpretive Group members tell their Civil War tales in period dress by lantern-light, in the first person, as civilians and soldiers that passed through this war-torn region. Join us on this crisp fall eve for this unique historical experience!

Admission for the program is $10 for adults, and $5 for students which supports the Mosby Heritage Area Association’s intensive school programming and adult education. Park entrance fees ($5/vehicle) apply. For more information about the program, call MHAA at (540) 687-5188 or Sky Meadows at (540) 592-3556.

The Mosby Heritage Area Association, formed in 1995, seeks to preserve the Northern Virginia Piedmont and increase public knowledge about this historic area.
