Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

The Wedding Festival at the Park is an event that will have everything you need to put you at ease during the wedding planning process. This event is co-sponsored by The Main Event and will be held on Sunday, April 17, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Representatives from The Main Event, local vendors and park staff will be hand to assist you with a wedding one-stop shopping experience that will make planning your wedding day memorable and stress-free. Caterers, DJs, bakeries, musicians, travel agents, hair and makeup artists, stylists, photographers, bartenders, florists, legal advisors, artists, and more will be on hand and ready for hire.

Chippokes State Park is a historic plantation with formal gardens, making it ideal for outdoor weddings. It's perfect for historically themed and traditional weddings, receptions and rehearsal dinners. The antebellum Chippokes Jones-Stewart Mansion is perfect for small weddings and serves as a beautiful backdrop for wedding photos. The park also has a fully screened conference shelter equipped with a full kitchen. It accommodates up to 200 people and is well-suited for large receptions and rehearsal dinners.

The festival will also include picturesque tram rides that will show couples some mock weddings staged around the park's historic area. Games, music, and wedding-themed activities will be featured, as well as plenty of prizes, discounts, giveaways, and food.
Admission tickets are $5 per person and can be purchased at the contact station at Chippokes State Park's main entrance.
