Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

Let's go on an Adventure: High Bridge Trail State Park
We chose to stay at Bear Creek Lake State Park because of its proximity to other parks and on day two we woke up to a beautiful January sight -- SNOW.
A beautiful snow day at High Bridge Trail State Park made for a perfect day for a hike
January 17 High Bridge Trail State Park
This snow didn't ruin our plans for the day, rather improved them. Temperatures were just above freezing so the 30 minute drive to High Bridge Trail State Park was easy.
This park is just one trail that runs through multiple cities. We parked at the *River Road* access point and hiked only 1 mile to the bridge. There was a good bit of interesting information regarding the bridge's history, and it was great seeing some of the details while walking past. We somehow lucked out enough to arrive to an empty bridge with undisturbed snow for a full experience!
The view from the center of the bridge was breathtaking, with trees as far as the eye can see on either side of the bridge and running water with marshland below.
Mr Rigby's favorite part was catching snowballs and making sure as much of the bridge had his paw-prints as possible. This park would be an absolute dream in the summer, and with a few different access points it makes a return trip well worth it!
A snowy trail filled with spectacular scenery like this view over the side of the bridge
