Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

The Friends of Belle Isle State Park have lined-up an exciting schedule of bands for this year’s Music by the River concert series at Belle Isle State Park.

We hope you will join us as we feature music from bluegrass to rock n’ roll, from reggae to blues, so there is a little something for everyone.

Here is a look at the exciting line-up for this year's Music by the River:

  • May 14 – Josh Grigsby and County Line (Bluegrass and Country)
  • May 21 – The Gurleys and Friends (Folk)
  • June 11 – Rappahannock Crossing (Bluegrass)
  • June 18 – Mary and the Janes (Acoustic Rock and Blues)
  • July 9 – Amy Ladd and Friends (Gospel-Bluegrass)
  • July 16 – Mercy Creek (Folk Rock)
  • July 23 – US Navy Band: The Cruisers (Rock n’ Roll)
  • August 13 – Stuck on a Name (Reggae)
  • August 20 – Southern Grace (Southern Christian Gospel)

Concerts are on each Saturday at 6:00 p.m. and are great for the whole family. Parking is $4 per vehicle and the concert is always free. 

The Friends of Belle Isle offer free popcorn and sell drinks for 50¢. While you enjoy the toe-tapping music, children young and old can enjoy ranger-led games and activities.

The concerts takes place at the Belle Isle State Park picnic area by the beautiful Rappahannock River. For more information about these concerts and other events going on at Belle Isle, click here.

If you are looking for overnight accommodations, Belle Isle offers spacious campsites with electric and water, a canoe-in campground, and two overnight houses located in the Bel Air area. You can make reservations by calling the Virginia State Park Customer Service Center at 1-800-933-PARK (7275).

Belle Isle State Park has seven miles of shoreline on the Northern Neck's Rappahannock River and provides access to Mulberry and Deep creeks. It has a great campground, picnic shelters, hiking, biking and bridle trails, and boat launches.
