Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

A 19th Century Nature Hike and Picnic Together

Celebrate the outdoors in historic style with The Regency Society of Virginia and Caledon State Park. Clothing reflecting the years 1790-1820 is encouraged, but not required.

Discover how people of the early 19th century viewed nature while observing and identifying plants and wildlife on a gentle hike through the park with a historically costumed guide: 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Bring a picnic lunch and join members of The Regency Society of Virginia following the hike as they introduce you to the variety of ways people 200 years ago enjoyed the outdoors: 11:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
