Fish for B.A.S.S. to Support Disabled Veterans
Sky Meadows State Park is offering a fishing tournament to benefit disabled veterans on Saturday, September 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
In remembrance of 9/11, Sky Meadows State Park presents Fish for B.A.S.S. (Brave American Servicemen and Servicewomen). Bring your fishing poles, valid VA fishing license, and wallets to donate a dollar or more for each inch of fish caught during the event. All donations will be given to the Stonewall Jackson Chapter of Disabled American Veterans (DAV) in support of their work in our community.
Spend the day catching bass, catfish, and sunfish at our beautiful park. Win a prize for catching the biggest fish, and enjoy a cookout all while helping a worthy cause.
Turner Pond is a great place to catch bass, catfish, and sunfish
We are proud to support Disabled American Veterans and the work they do because they truly make a difference for veterans. DAV is a respected charitable organization, in existence just shy of 100 years. According to charitynavigator.org, 96% of money raised goes to programming for veterans. The Stonewall Jackson Chapter is very active in northern Virginia and eastern West Virginia. The organization works to improve the quality of life for patients in the Martinsburg, West Virginia Veterans Administration Hospital, assists individuals through hardships, helps vets complete paperwork to receive benefits, and advocates on their behalf. We need your help and contributions to support DAV and improve the lives of our national heroes.
