Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

Celebrate a Civil War Era Christmas at Leesylvania State Park
December 19, 2015 from 10:00a.m. - 4:00p.m.
Bring the entire family out for an afternoon of holiday cheer at Leesylvania State Park. What is there for you and your family to do? Here is a short list:
- listen to period music
- see costumed interpreters
- enjoy light refreshments
- make Christmas decorations as people did during the Civil War
- bring a camera for pictures with Santa
- take a winter walk on one of the many trails
If you are interested in history or the holidays, or are 8 to 80, there is something fun for everyone at this special park event. The cost is only $2 per person or $6 per family.
