Basic Oak-Hickory Woodland / Savanna – CEGL003721

A large colony of nettle-leaf sage (Salvia urticifolia) in a basic oak-hickory woodland at Fort Pickett.  Tommeheton Creek drainage, Dinwiddie County.  Photographed in May 1993, the colony was still present and thriving when rechecked in July 2014.
