A typical, second- or third-growth, stump-sprouted stand of chestnut oak (Quercus montana), with both mountain-laurel (Kalmia latifolia) and black huckleberry (Gaylussacia baccata) in the shrub layer.  Kennedy Peak, Massanutten Mountains, Page County.  Lee Ranger District, George Washington & Jefferson National Forests.
