Central Appalachian Montane Oak - Hickory Forest (Rich Type) – CEGL008518
Spring aspect of a rich montane oak-hickory forest on metabasalt of the Northern Blue Ridge.  Common wild ginger (Asarum canadense), common black cohosh (Actaea racemosa), and Curtis' goldenrod (Solidago curtisii) co-dominant the herb layer of this stand.  Near Laurel Springs Gap, Nelson County, Blue Ridge Parkway.
