Late-summer aspect of a rich montane oak-hickory forest with thin-leaved sunflower (Helianthus decapetalus), sweet-scented joe-pye-weed (Eutrochium purpureum var. purpureum), and wood nettle (Laportea canadensis) forming most of a lush herb layer.  Baldface Mountain, Rockingham County, Shenandoah National Park.
