Dry-mesic calcareous forest on a well-drained floodplain terrace along the North River at eastern foot of Shenandoah Mountain in Augusta County. Northern red oak (Quercus rubra) and sugar maple (Acer saccharum) were overstory co-dominants, with some hemlock (Tsuga canadensis) in the understory.
