Sphagnous depression swamp in the outer part of the Potts Mountain Pond basin in Alleghany and Craig Counties; black gum (Nyssa sylvatica), minniebush (Menziesia pilosa), and cinnamon fern (Osmundastrum cinnamomeum) are the dominant species. James River and Eastern Divide Ranger Districts, George Washington & Jefferson National Forests.
