Central Appalachian Mountain Pond (Buttonbush - Threeway Sedge Type) – CEGL003746
Small but extraordinary sag pond on a gentle interfluve of the Blue Ridge between Dancing and Otter Creeks. The herbaceous vegetation is strongly dominated by false hop sedge (Carex lupuliformis), a Coastal Plain disjunct unknown elsewhere in the Virginia mountains.
