A DCR-DNH zoologist examines invertebrates in Green Pond, a 0.5-acre sag pond on the summit of the Blue Ridge at Big Levels, Augusta County.  Water sedge (Carex aquatilis var. substricta) dominates the vegetation in the photo.  Glenwood-Pedlar Ranger District, George Washington & Jefferson National Forests.
