Shenandoah Valley Sinkhole Pond (Typic Type) – CEGL007858

Savanna-like pond with scattered persimmon (Diospyros virginiana) over tall flat panic grass (Coleataenia rigidula ssp. rigidula).  This is the southwesternmost Shenandoah Valley sinkhole pond, near Davidson Run northeast of Glasgow, Rockbridge County.  Glenwood-Pedlar Ranger District, George Washington & Jefferson National Forests.
