Shenandoah Valley Sinkhole Pond (Typic Type) – CEGL007858
Oak Pond, in the Maple Flats pond complex near Sherando, Augusta County. It is a fairly typical, seasonally flooded Shenandoah Valley sinkhole pond, with a sphagnous basin bordered by groves of pine oak (Quercus palustris).
