Central Appalachian Mafic Nonvascular Cliff / Boulderfield – CEGL004143
Large-block metabasalt boulderfield deposited at the foot of cliffs on the north face of Stony Man Mountain, Page County, Shenandoah National Park.  The scrubby woodlands invading the edges of the boulderfield consist largely of yellow birch (Betula alleghaniensis) and American mountain ash (Sorbus americana).
