View toward the Piedmont from high-elevation outcrop barren on the southeastern flank of Spy Rock in Nelson County.  The exfoliating granitic rock is leucocharnockite, a member of the Blue Ridge basement complex.  Glenwood-Pedlar Ranger District, George Washington & Jefferson National Forests.
