High-Elevation Acidic Cove Forest – CEGL007861
High-elevation acidic cove forest along Cabin Branch below Wilburn Ridge in Grayson Highlands State Park.  This stand has large red spruce (Picea rubens), in addition to the usual components of yellow birch (Betula alleghaniensis) and great rhododendron (Rhododendron maximum).
