Coastal Plain / Outer Piedmont Basic Mesic Forest - CEGL006055

Colony of blue cohosh (Caulophyllum thalictroides) in a rich, inner Coastal Plain ravine cutting through shell deposits above Potomac Creek, Stafford County.  This is one of very few sites for blue cohosh in the Virginia Coastal Plain.  Crows Nest State Natural Area Preserve.
