LAND CONSERVATION
Office of Land Conservation
Land conservation in Virginia
With every passing day, land is becoming more expensive and scarce. I will set up and meet this preservation goal during my term, not just because it's the right thing to do. I will do it because, if I don't, the opportunity to do it will not be there for future governors and future Virginians.
- Governor Tim Kaine

 Progress on 400,000-acre land conservation goal as of March 31, 2008.
Welcome to DCR's Office of Land Conservation website. The purpose of the Office is to help citizens and organizations protect land. We do this by:
  1. Helping interested landowners understand all the different options available for protecting their land;
  2. Providing information regarding land conservation to the public; and
  3. Providing services to state agencies, local governments, land trusts and professionals through
    • Technical assistance
    • Workshops and training
    • Serving as a clearinghouse for information
Our goal is to connect you with the information and agency, land trust or organization that best addresses your needs. We'll point you in the right direction. You may also contact us directly at the phone number and email address listed below.
