Most land protection costs are associated with legal documents and tax or financial planning. The Open-Space Land Preservation Trust Fund can help landowners with costs of conveying conservation easements and the purchase of all or part of the value of the easements. The fund may reimburse legal and appraisal costs and all or part of the easement's value. Priority may be given to applicants seeking only cost reimbursement, demonstrating financial need, or covering a family owned or operated farm.
