Hiring Rate: $14.00 per hour
Pocahontas State Park is accepting applications for the Food Service Ranger position! Ideal candidates will be self-motivated, outgoing, and provide optimal customer service with a friendly, professional, and courteous attitude. The Food Service Ranger prepares food as required adhering to VA Dept of Health regulations and ServSafe practices. This position safely and efficiently operates various cooking instruments to include sharp instruments, ovens, hot dog rollers, and microwaves. This position will also assist the Enterprise Manager with stock and inventory of food items; clean and sanitize the entire work area daily; and conduct upkeep of concessions to include sweeping, cleaning tables, removing trash and litter. Other duties as assigned.

Must be able to perform manual labor in outdoor conditions requiring frequent walking, bending, standing, and be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. This position will work various shifts of up to 8 hours a day including days, evenings, weekends and holidays. Wage/seasonal positions are not eligible for benefits and are limited to 1500 hours from May 1 to April 30. Employer participates in E-Verify.
A valid State Driver's License is required to operate a state vehicle or if operating a personal vehicle while conducting business on behalf of the agency.
