Claytor Lake State Park
PAY RATE: $9.00 per hour and requires work on most weekends and holidays.
Position works at the park entrance building; collecting revenue, operating cash registers to conduct sales of merchandise and facilities, registering campers and cabin guests, and providing superior customer service. Successful candidates must be able to use the internet and various types of office equipment, including: telephones, a two way radio, and a fax machine. Other tasks include copying, and distributing correspondence and providing park visitors with accurate and detailed information of the park and local area. Applicants must have the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Primary role is to work at the Park Contact Station, but may be used in additional locations around the park performing similar tasks. Must also be able to work while standing up for extended periods of time in a building that is not climate controlled. Position is part time 30 to 40 hours per week April – September, and 20 to 30 hours per week October – March. A Virginia State Application is required and can be picked up at the park. Positions are not to exceed 1500 hours per fiscal year.
