Closes On: 03/13/2013Shenandoah River State Park is recruiting for a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator.
Job descripton: Manage and maintain daily operation of 15,000 GPD sewer treatment plant. Perform daily testing of DO, CL2, Ph and monthly tests of TSS, CBOD, MLSS and volatile MLSS as well as daily testing, making adjustments as needed to ensure all parameters are met per DEQ requirements. Manage and maintain all three of the parks well systems to ensure all testing and sampling meet DH requirements. Minimum qualifications: Ability to supervise and work with all park staff regarding the operation of the sewer treatment plant and well systems. Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing. Sewage treatment plant experience. Ground water well system experience. Knowledge and ability to perform preventive maintenance to pumps, aerators, diffusers and testing equipment. Ability to conduct chemical testing for pH, DO, CL2 and SSV. High school diploma or equivalent required. Current drivers license required.
Four year degree from an accredited college or university preferred. Practical or education related experience as it relates to management and operations of small package plants and groundwater well systems class IV water works and class IV waste water.
Hiring range: $28,629 - $49,225 Closes 3/13/13
