Real Property Acquisition Specialist - Environmental Specialist II - Wage/Houly - # DO003

The chief objective of this position is to serve in an agency support role on all aspects of DCR's land conservation transactions, including fee acquisitions and open space easements. This position may also work on other real property transactions such as utility easements that benefit or impact DCR lands.

Minimum Qualifications
Considerable knowledge and experience to successfully complete a diversity of assignments including (1) complex issues relating to deed research; (2) landowner communications; (3) laws and policies of Virginia that relate to land conservation and real property; (4) capital outlay and financial management policies of the Commonwealth. Also, the ability to manage contractors such as title companies, appraisers and surveyors; the ability to work successfully and independently with agency staff and outside partners, the Office of the Attorney General and transaction managers within Dept of General Services (DGS); the ability to draft and review land conservation documents; strong problem solving skills, financial tracking and record keeping skill.

Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of and previous work experience in Natural Resources.

Special Requirements
This position also requires extensive travel and the ability to work in a variety of outdoor environments.
The completion of a Statement of Economic Interest (SOEI)form will be required upon employment.

Hiring Range: $35-40/hourly; Closes 10/9/15
