Natural Resource Manager II, Park Manager, Staunton River State Park #00625 Closes 8/16/13

Located at Staunton River State Park in Halifax County, VA. Provides oversight and management of a major state park including the direction of personnel, operations, and expenditures in the operation providing for programs and services to ensure visitor expectations are met with special emphasis on provision of visitor services, and outside labor programs, interpretive and environmental education programs, management of natural and cultural resources, and the maintenance of buildings and grounds. Enforces State laws and park regulations. Ensures department, division, and park support through civic activities, media relations, and interaction with other governmental officers and/ or agencies. Manage compliance with regulatory agencies for health and safety. Provides intra-agency resources for the advancement of the Agency's mission.

Successful candidate will have a combination of experiences, education, and/or training in one or more of the following areas: park operations and programs; environmental education; communications; public relations; maintenance of building, grounds and equipment; management of natural or cultural resources; supervision; park interpretive programs. Experience with maintenance and concessions as well as revenue generating operations is needed. Knowledge and/or experience with budgeting, financial procedures and procurement are needed. Experience in marketing, customer service and community relations helpful.

High School diploma or equivalent required. Valid driver's license.

This position is subject to lateral transfer within the state. Must live in park housing. Must complete law enforcement training. Criminal history background check required. "Federal law prohibits anyone convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence from carrying a firearm."

Hiring Range: $42,188- $69,360 Recruitment closes: 8/16/13
