Duties and responsibilities required of this position include receiving & routing telephone calls, greeting visitors, daily cash management, collection of fees, providing park information, merchandise sales, and maintaining sales area, assisting park guest with cabin and camping registrations and reservations, & completion of shift reports. Operation of cash register, office computers, including MS word & excel, using online databases to pull information needed to make deposits and reconcile budget. Maintains records & files. Provides clerical assistance to other park staff. Assists with enterprise operations and contact station as needed.
Position is required to work weekends and holidays. Hours worked per week will vary based on time of year with more hours during the camping season and less hours in the winter.
PREFEERED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Enthusiasm for Chippokes Plantation State Park and Surry County history and culture. A valid a driver's license is required. Knowledge of office operations including operation of use of a computer, telephone, and cash register. Ability to interact successfully with a diverse group of people. Knowledge of cash management practices. Knowledge of local area and history helpful.
EDUCATION:High school graduate or equivalent with college level classes preferred. PAY RATE: Starts at $9.65 per hour
