DCR is looking for talented people to fill positions listed below. Unless otherwise stated in the job announcement, to be considered for a listed position, you must complete and submit an electronic state application by the close date stated in the job announcement.

Staunton River State Park -2015 Seasonal Summer Employment Closes July 17, 2015

Staunton River State Park, located in Scottsburg, VA, has summer employment opportunities for the following seasonal positions:

Maintenance Ranger
Perform reoccurring grounds care, routine building maintenance, minor construction repairs, and general maintenance tasks associate with grounds, building and equipment. Daily work tasks include mowing grass, trash removal, debris clean-up, vehicle and equipment maintenance, and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Must be 16 or older and have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Basic knowledge of hand and power tools, tractors, lawn mowers, and other maintenance practices preferred, but not required. Must be able to work well with other staff and park guests. Must provide uniform (through approved uniform supply company) and must be willing to work shifts, weekends, and holidays from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Application deadline July 17th.

All positions require shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating schedule. All employees are required to attend several days of training prior to the start of the summer season. No benefits are associated with seasonal positions.
