State Parks Central Office is seeking a Visitor Services Support Coordinator

The Administrative Coordinator manages the office of Visitor Services for the Division of State Parks by providing logistical and administrative support to the Visitor Services Manager and staff. Duties include coordinating travel and staff development meetings, trainings, and special projects. The incumbent works in collaboration with the administrative staff for other State Park sections; communicates with the public by written, verbal, and electronic means regarding customer service issues and sensitive and confidential matters; works on special projects relating to visitor services including marketing, visitor experience, volunteerism, and customer service. Participates in the development of strategic plans, goals, and objectives for the section; fosters exceptional esprit de corps; enhances relevancy, effectiveness, and sustainability of program areas. Demonstrated ability to use data base applications

Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate will have significant experience in office administrative tasks as well as project and program management skills. Must have skill in operating computers with good working knowledge of software and hardware including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Experience in organizing events and meetings. Demonstrated oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate well with peers, subordinates, and the general public. Ability to understand and explain processes and procedures clearly and concisely. Knowledge and/or experience with business telecommunications systems. Knowledge of financial practices and records management. Must have high school diploma or equivalency.

Preferred Qualifications
Specific Commonwealth of Virginia procurement experience including use of the State small purchase charge card, SWaM (small, women, and minority) vendor requirements and search, and use of IDSS.
High school business coursework or equivalent and/or business college coursework including office practices and procedures, accounting procedures, organizations skills. Knowledge of social media sites and reputation management including Flickr, Yelp, and Trip Advisor.

This position requires infrequent overnight travel to State Parks.

Hiring Salary Range: $34,707-$44,280
